Witnesses sought for the Vanderbijl murder-suicide

VANDERBIJLPARK.- The Gauteng police have called for eyewitnesses and those with information or tip-offs about the Vanderbijlpark murder-suicide.

Police Spokesperson Captain Kay Makhubele confirmed that the police have launched an inquest into numerous shooting incidents after a man allegedly went on a shooting spree before taking his own life on Tuesday night.

According to ER24 18-year old Nathan Hebler was killed, and two others left injured Tuesday evening following a shooting incident on Frikke Meyer in Vanderbijlpark.

“Shortly after 19h00 ER24 paramedics arrived at the parking lot to find two men, aged 18 and 45, lying in the parking lot. Both men had sustained a gunshot wound and were in a critical condition. A third man, who was struck by a vehicle in the parking lot, was found in a serious condition.”

Medics treated the patients and provided them with advanced life support interventions. Once treated, the men were transported to nearby hospitals for further care.

“Unfortunately, after some time, the 18-year-old man succumbed to his injuries in hospital.”

A fourth victim, a car guard who was on his way home is said to have sustained a fatal gun wound to his head after the man in the BMWX5 shot him on the head.

Bystanders on the scene say the man drove off after shooting the man.

Makhubele said a second man, whose age is yet to be determined, had also died in hospital on Wednesday.
