SEBOKENG.- The aspiring Diphetogo Netball Team is in desperate need of the communities support.
This was revealed by the Club Coach, Neo Letsoaka in an interview with Sedibeng Ster Sport this week. This netball club is registered under Diphetogo Sports Excellence which is a Non-Profit Organization (NPO).
This organization was established in 2011 with the following sporting codes; chess, table tennis and netball (which is currently the only code that is active). Diphetogo Netball Club is affiliated under the Netball Federation League and has won several trophies.Letsoaka said they have assembled a club with players from all over Sedibeng. The players come from Sebokeng Zones 7, 8, 10, and 15, Evaton, Small Farms, Evaton North, Tshepong and Sharpeville. The club uses the Evaton Mafatsane sport facilities in Evaton for training and playing purposes. The club consists of five divisions namely, Senior A, Senior B, u/13, u/16 and a male netball team.  Letsoaka said their aim is to nurture and develop talented netballers but the biggest challenge that the club faces is a lack of support in terms of resources such as training and playing equipment. Despite a lack of support from their own community the club has contributed remarkably in the development of netball in Sedibeng with a few of their players representing Sedibeng in many national championships. Ntswaki Kele and Refiloe Mfene are some of the of club’s players who have made this region proud.  “We always hope to get assistance from parents, community and businesses. All our players are either students or pupils. We appeal for assistance in any kind of form,” said Letsoaka.
