SAPS’ team work yield results

SEDIBENG. – The Sedibeng District teams anti hijacking, Tactical Response Team (TRT), K9 Unit, together with Compol, Midvaal Peace Officer and Car track recently managed to recover a Grey Toyota Hilux that was stolen during a house robbery in Bedworthpark, Vereeniging.

Police Spokesperson Warrant Officer Tshegofatso Maliehe said that whilst conducting visible policing and patrols within Sedibeng policing precinct, targeting the hot spot areas namely Golden high way,Moshoeshoe Road and Vanderbijlpark areas the teams managed to receive information about a stolen Toyota Hilux.

“Whilst the members were busy searching the vehicle (Toyota Hilux), they received further information about two more vehicles that were also taken during the same house robbery. The search continued and led to the recovery of two more vehicles, a white Toyota Etios and a white Toyota Condor that were left in different areas near Orange Farms, said Maliehe.

One suspect was arrested and detained at Sebokeng Police Station in relation to these recoveries.

Through investigation it was also found out that the suspect is known and works for the victim.
