A new wheelchair for Granny

VANDERBIJLPARK. - A member of Provincial Parliament, Kingsol Chabalala, approached the Rotary Club of Vanderbijlpark with the request to assist a 95-yearold bedridden granny living in Sebokeng who was in need of a wheelchair.

Ex Rotarian Phillip Nothnagel contacted Rita Benecke at the Vanderbilpark Rotary Club and asked her if the organization would be willing to donate a wheelchair to Granny Francina. She immediately agreed to his request. The chair was handed over on 18 November by Phillip on behalf of the Rotary Club of Vanderbijlpark. The DA Member of the Provincial Parliament, Member Kingsol Chabalala’ and the DA Political head of Emfuleni South Simon (Dady) Mollo were present at the handover.

Granny Francine was overcome with emotion when she was placed in the chair. The whole family thanked Rotary for the donation. Kingsol and Daddy also expressed their thanks and admiration for the wonderful work the Rotary is doing in and for our communities. The members of the Rotary Club of Vanderbijlpark get great satisfaction from providing increased comfort, mobility, independence, and freedom to persons in need. This is but one of the many welfare actions the club is involved in.
