Dogs stuck in a sewerage plantation in Sharpeville rescued

SHARPEVILLE.- Two dogs that were stuck in a sewerage plantation in Sharpeville were rescued by the SPCA Vereeniging & Vanderbijlpark inspectors on Monday.

The dogs had been reportedly stuck in the plantation for over two days. Cadet Inspectors Eloise Carelsen and Megan Kaltenbrunn immediately responded to the call for help.

According to SPCA to avoid a septic situation Kaltenbrunn had to tie her hair into a bun.

“With rope in hand and a peg on the nose, she climbed down the wall of the sewerage plantation to rescue the two dogs. Soaked in the dirty water, Megan brought the two dogs to safety – one by one.”

“It was not an easy task for such a petite lady, but she was not going to give up. With a dog under the arm she braved her way back up the sewerage plantation wall, until both dogs were safe and sound. After this rescue operation both dogs (and Megan) needed a good washdown to smell “dog” again. Their tails were wagging with joy after a nice meal and a warm bed to sleep in.”

Soon these beautiful canines will be ready for a new home.
