Rita renews wedding vows to herself

VANDERBIJLPARK. - The woman who made headlines last year when she married herself celebrated a whole year of "married life" on Monday, November 9.

Rita Woodall-Terblanche renewed her wedding vows in a park in SE2 along Frikkie Meyer Boulevard. Only her good friend, Leonie Gouws, who led the ceremony last year during which Rita married herself at the Riverside Sun Hotel in Vanderbijlpark, as well as two reporters from Vaalweekblad, were present during this rare ceremony. Rita arrived at the park around 11:00 in a vehicle decorated with balloons and ribbons and later emerged from the car in a blue dress and blue gloves. “It’s blue Monday,” she joked. Rita immediately walked to Leonie and hugged her, after which the two walked to a place deeper in the park to complete the ceremony. At a small bridge in the park they stopped. Leonie then said: “We are here today to celebrate Rita’s first anniversary of her solemn marriage. Before I ask her to renew her promises, I just want to say, “Rita, you look beautiful today!” “Rita is the person with the most beautiful disposition, the softest heart and nothing is ever too much for her when it comes to her fellow man. Her hand is always open and she helps wherever she can. ”

Then Rita renewed the wedding vow she made to herself last year: “I hereby confirm, Rita Woodall-Terblanche, that I promise to be faithful to myself, that I will love myself, take care of myself, maintain myself, keep my promises to myself and that I will be strong for everything and everyone around me, for the beautiful nature, for I know, and everyone knows, that if you do not love yourself, you cannot love the next person in front of you. “If you do not care for yourself, I can not care for you and therefore I will go out of my way to love myself this year ahead. “The first year was a success and I believe that we will also make the second year a success.” On that note, Leonie wished Rita, on behalf of herself and all her loved ones, a prosperous year and good health. The two then hugged again. According to Rita, her son, who lives in Ballito, was unable to attend the ceremony. Her brother could not make it either. However, everyone congratulated her. Rita says she enjoyed the confinement time terribly and read a lot. It was nice for her to be able to spend time with herself. She also celebrated her birthday alone at her home in August.

The 64-year-old Woodall-Terblanche made headlines last year when she married herself.

While many people congratulated her, people were very critical of the marriage. Rita, who does not use a cell phone and is also not on social media, says she does not care about people’s opinions.
