Sharpeville lad makes impressive debut for Chiefs

Lesako is a product of the Nale Academy that is based in Vanderbijlpark

SHARPEVILLE.- Lebohang Lesako made an impressive professional debut for Kaizer Chiefs against the Dstv Premier Soccer League defending champions, Mamelodi Sundowns, over the weekend. This 21-year-old, from Tshepiso in Sharpeville put on a brave performance when he came in as a sub in the second half. If his weekend performance is anything to go by, no doubt Lesako is destined for a great future. When he came in, he immediately made his presence felt on the right hand side of the pitch. His debut in the 3-0 loss to Sundowns ended a long speculation that he was one of the Kaizer Chiefs MDC team players who were set to be promoted to the senior team. Lesako is a product of the Nale Academy that is based in Vanderbijlpark, he joined Kaizer Chiefs’ junior teams from the academy aged 15. The Tshepiso community members who stay nearby his place went to watch the game at his parents’ place and his parents were proud to see their son making a debut for one of the biggest clubs in the history of the South African football. Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport his parents said, “We are very proud to see our son on TV playing for Kaizer Chiefs.  Our neighbours came to watch the game here and when he came in there was a lot of noise around. We want to thank Nale Academy because they took our son to Chiefs when he was 15 years old.” Despite the loss to Sundowns, Lesako was happy with his individual performance.
