B.O.B does great things for the community of Zone 3

SEBOKENG. – A group of Zone 3 Sebokeng community members have taken it upon their shoulders to revive the community.
The group run a book club in Zone 3 called the B.O.B. Book Club (Bring you Own Book). It is run by the Grata Foundation, which is a PBO (Public Benefit Organization), founded by Banele ‘Don-Grata’ Sidiya.
The group holds sittings every Sunday next to the Zone 3 shops, by the Old Bakery building.
Speaking to Sedibeng Ster, the Manager of the project, Thulani Herimbi said, “In our sitting we hold open lectures, book reviews, debates and open discussions.
“The book club is aimed at being a think tank where we can discuss real social and economic issues and come with solutions that will better our community.”
Herimbi said that they have also started planning and doing some projects that are aimed at helping the community.
“We ran a soup kitchen in the month of August. The soup kitchen was not only aimed at feeding people but also inspiring them and letting them know who we are and what we are doing.
“We are also beginning a project to clean and transform the illegal dump sites in our communities. We took our first steps earlier this month. We aim to continue with this project and grow it.”
Herembi said that with the support of the community they can only grow stronger, together.
