Imbumba Foundation donates food parcels to the homeless people

Imbumba Foundation has been involved in number of projects in the entire Sedibeng region.

SEBOKENG. – Imbumba Foundation in conjunction with South 32 Company donated 65 food parcels to homeless people at Saul Tsotetsi Sports Complex in Zone in Zone 14, Sebokeng recently. These homeless have been accommodated at the Saul Tsotetsi Sports Complex since the beginning of lockdown due to Covid19. The project is part of both Sedibeng District Municipality (SDM) and Emfuleni Local Municipality (ELM). The Sedibeng District Municipality and Emfuleni Local MMC’s of Social Development, Mmakgomo Raikane and Dimakatso Malisa received the donation on behalf of the two organisations. Imbumba Foundation has been involved in number of projects in the entire Sedibeng region. Speaking to Sedibeng Ster, Malisa said that when President Ciryl Ramaphosa announced a nationwide lockdown he said no one was supposed to be on the street hence ELM jointly with SDM have accommodated these homeless people at the complex since March. When asked what would happen with these homeless people at end of the lockdown, she said they will be moved to Moedi Center in Sharpeville. “We as Emfuleni and Sedibeng Social Department, Disaster Management and Health Department we work together in this project. We want to thank Imbumba Foundation and South 32 for this donation. This project is part of disaster management call,” said Malisa. Her sentiments were echoed by Raikane who said Saul Tsotetsi Sports Complex is a temporary arrangement for these homeless people.
