Netball is Mofokeng’s life

She believes that with education on her side, they sky is the limit.

VANDERBIJLPARK. – Sarah Mofokeng (22) is a young woman with big dreams to tour the world through sports.
Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, this NWU Vaal student said that her ambition is to further her netball career either in Australia or New Zealand.
Mofokeng started playing at the age of 7 in primary school.
However, apart from netball, she was also good in athletics. She told Sedibeng Ster Sport that she had to make a hard choice between athletics, and netball and that she doesn’t regret choosing netball ahead of athletics.
“I have been playing netball my whole life, from a very young age. I was in grade 1 when I started playing netball. I would also participate in athletics and was good as well. But I stopped running because I wanted to focus on netball. I’m very passionate about this sport. When I came to NWU Vaal, I played for the residents’ B team. This is where I started to compete seriously,” she said.
Mofokeng, who is Sports Officer for Arcadia residents, said she decided to stand for election for the Sports Officer position because of her passion for sports.
Mofokeng told Sedibeng Ster Sport that her ambition is to tour the world through netball especially to the above-mentioned countries. She said these two countries are household names when it comes to netball.
Mofokeng said the highlights of her netball career was when she received a merit award after she made it through to the quarter finals of the Gauteng Netball trials.
Mofokeng is a second-year student in Bachelor of Arts in Humanities with Sociology and Psychology.
She believes that with education on her side, they sky is the limit.
