Zone 7 Stadium left bare

Some of the houses' yard next to the stadium are fenced with the stadium material. 

SEBOKENG.- Police recently recovered material that used to make up the Zone 7 Stadium after it was stolen.

This was after whistle blowers alerted the police about the missing fencing of the stadium that has not been in use for some time. The fencing, otherwise known as “stop-nonsense” was discovered at some house in Zone 7, Zone 8 and Evaton. This historical venue is left with nothing, this includes soccer poles and grandstands.

To make it worse, some of the houses’ yard next to the stadium are fenced with the stadium material. Zone 7 Stadium, is one of the historical venues in Sedibeng that used to host high profile political and football events. The venue was commonly known as ‘Masenkeng’ Stadium.

Apart from football, the venue used to host school athletics and there were basketball courts inside the venue. The venue produced great basketball players who went as far as to represent South Africa at international competitions.

Sedibeng Ster was informed that police expect to make arrests soon.
