Bomb threat at Fonteine Primary School

According to a letter received by parents the SAPS was contacted immediately, and they were on the scene within minutes.

SASOLBURG. – Pupils at the Fonteine Primary School were forced to evacuate their classrooms and flee to an adjacent sports field after the school received a bomb threat on Wednesday, 26 August.

In a letter to parents the school’s principal Mr Le Roux said: “I bring it to your attention that Fonteine ​​Primary School received a threat by e-mail today.”

According to a letter received by parents the SAPS was contacted immediately, and they were on the scene within minutes.

“The school buildings were immediately evacuated, and the police searched the school with the help of police dogs. It is gratifying to be able to say that nothing was found that endangered anyone,” Le Roux said in the letter.

“I bring to your attention that the police responded immediately. Their service was outstanding. They were also involved this afternoon during the adjournment of the learner’s and will also be present tomorrow morning with the arrival of the learners and start of the school day.”
