BOPHELONG.- Tension flared in Bophelong recently resulting in an Emfuleni Local Municipality (ELM) Electrical Team fleeing the area when they went to install a new transformer in Muvhango, Extension 16 recently. The team met an angry community who demanded to know which area they would be installing the transformer. The angry community members felt that after being without electricity for months, others for weeks, they should be the first to be supplied with electricity before other areas. The employees had no choice but to pack tools and drive away, worried of their safety. At least one member of the public was seen pulling out a knife during the commotion.
