Enough is enough!

“The Tosunga Baninga Organisation have nothing to celebrate on Women’s Day.”

SEDIBENG.- “The Tosunga Baninga Organisation have nothing to celebrate on Women’s Day.” This was said by the organization’s founder, Norma Mbele.
Mbele and a small group of women recreated a crime scene at the Evaton Mall stop sign to remember rape and murder victims such as Baby Mlangeni, Nomvula Makhasane, Nomatjala Makhasana and others.
“We are going to the High Court for Baby Mlangeni, who was raped, murdered and kept by her boyfriend for a week in a shack. Nomvula Makhasane was brutally murdered in her room in Vereeniging last year leaving her child behind. But no arrest was made, these are some of the cases we are fighting for.”
Mbele said that so many cases are thrown out of court because police claim there is a lack of evidence.
“We have nothing to celebrate Women’s Day until justice is done for the victims of gender-based violence against women,” said Mbele.
Tosunga Baninga is a non-profit organisation that helps with the community’s daily needs in the area. Meanwhile everything came to a standstill when the Polo Vivo crew from Orange Farm celebrated Women’s Day in style over the weekend.
The day’s program started with a convoy from Thabo Mall in Sebokeng to Evaton Mall.
Speaking to Sedibeng Ster, the organisation’s Chairman, Njabulo Zwane said this was in support of women and creating awareness of gender-based violence against women.
“Enough is enough and we as the Polo Vivo Crew from Orange Farm took an initiative to join the fight against gender-based violence. Our mothers and sisters don’t deserve to be killed in this manner,” he said.
