Expect mixed feelings when PSL resume

It is almost four months since the PSL players kicked a ball due to COVID-19.

SEDIBENG. – Expect a mix of emotions when the Premier Soccer League PSL (PS) resumes next weekend.

It is almost four months since the PSL players kicked a ball due to COVID-19.

The return of football brings a lot of memories with Ellis Park Stadium being one of the venues to be used after many years. At one stage the stadium hosted South African derbies between Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates. The last time these two South African football giants used this venue was after a stampede which saw 42 people die.

All the remaining games of the PSL will take place in Gauteng, in the absence of soccer fans. This is after weeks of negotiations between SAFA and PSL. The PSL will kick-start with the semi-finals of the Nedbank Cup.

Some of the venues that will host PSL games include Dobsonville Stadium, Tuks Stadium, FNB Stadium, Lucas Moripe Stadium, Bidvest Stadium and Loftus Stadium.
