Tosunga Baninga feed more than 300 families

Since the lockdown started, the organisation has been busy to help those who can’t afford to buy food and their families in the community.

EVATON.- Tosunga Baninga has distributed about 600 food parcels and 300 vegetables to local families since lockdown began.
This was revealed to Sedibeng Ster by the founder of the organisation, Noma Mbele.
he team was also hard at work distributing vegetables to the needy in Evaton over the weekend. Tosunga Baninga is a non-profit organisation, based in Evaton, that has different empowerment programmes to reach out to families in need. Speaking to Sedibeng Ster, Mbele said that the organisation assists families in need, in different situations.
Since the lockdown started, the organisation has been busy to help those who can’t afford to buy food and their families in the community. On the weekend, the organisation also donated masks, body creams and sanitizers to the families.
“We have also had victims of gender-based violence (GBV) during lockdown. It is not only about distributing food parcels and vegetables, but helping the needy. We are not funded, we have no funds at all. We have offices we are renting and for the past 15 months and we have not paid rent because we honestly don’t have money.
