Parkview Motors service station closed following confirmed Covid-19 case

The Parkview motors service station in Vanderbijilpark has been temporarily closed after a staff member tested positive for Covid-19 on Thursday,11 June.

According to a statement from the service station following the positive testing for COVID-19 by a member of staff they have closed this service station and contracted a professional decontamination company to sanitize and deep clean the interior and exterior of the site.

“The affected employee is currently in self-quarantine and we have informed The National Institute of Communicable Diseases (NICD) and the Department of Health,’’ the service station said in a statement.

According to the service station a contact tracing process supported by the NICD has immediately commented to identify all individuals who have been in close contact with the patient. All those who have had close contact with the patient are now in self-quarantine for 14 days.

“The service station will be reopened once it is safe to do so.”
