COVID-19 pandemic restores the spirit of ‘Ubuntu’

SEBOKENG. – The COVID-19 pandemic has brought back the spirit of ‘Ubuntu’ in the community.

Since President Cyril Ramaphosa announced the nationwide lockdown, South African citizens have joined hands in the fight against Coronavirus with a number of projects initiated in their communities.

The community of Zone 3 in Sebokeng are no different as they have also joined hands to clean their area, especially the dumping places. One was around the Ekujuleni Primary School. The residents told Sedibeng Ster that the initiative is to keep the area clean with the COVID-19 pandemic and their health being a big concern.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster, Themba Dlamini, who is one of the community members said that they came up with this initiative to help the community.

“We give thanks to the Sefatsa , the Thokoane family and the surrounding neighborhoods’ community members for their hospitality during our service around Ekujuleni Primary School. We also want to say thanks to our local councillor for his contribution in the form of tools,” said Dlamini.

Dlamini is also involved in the development of football in the area.
