EVATON. – He grew up without shoes on his feet for most of his childhood, now he makes the most styled shoes that are wanted by many.

Thabiso Gift Lesawana from Evaton, works tirelessly to produce good quality shoes for his customers using African textiles as the trademark for his label, ‘Deep Knowledge’.

Currently, Lesawana works from his backyard but his dreams are much bigger than anyone can imagine.

“I would always have my work on display at my home as I wanted my work to be seen. The main reason behind this was that I wanted to become a footwear technologist, designer and manufacturer.

I am a very handy person. The journey was so hard that I ran out of ideas of how I will make my dreams and aspirations come true.”

Lesawana says that after completing his matric, he could not further his studies due to finances.

He however took part in an internship to brush up on his shoe designing skills.

Currently, he is looking for someone who can help uplift his business by investing with equipment, machinery and a secured place for the equipment and other material.

Lesawana says that machinery can help him produce on a larger scale and also help with making the process quicker, thus growing his business.

‘I would really appreciate any help I can get with machines needed to make shoes.

“This will also make my dream of creating employment come true.”
