Bakkie rollover leaves Meyerton man seriously injured

A man, believed to be in his 20s, was left seriously injured Saturday night when his bakkie rolled at the Jim Fouche and Uitvlucht intersection in Meyerton.

ER24 paramedics, along with the Provincial Services, arrived on the scene at 21h45 to find the bakkie lying on its roof on the side of the road.

According to ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring a man in his 20s was found lying trapped inside the vehicle in a serious condition.

“Rescue Services had to use the jaws-of-life equipment to free the man from the vehicle. Once freed, medics treated the man and provided him with pain-relief medication before he was transported to Mediclinic Emfuleni Hospital for further care,” Meiring said in a statement.

Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
