Home Based Care donates food parcels to families affected by HIV

SEBOKENG.- Four Steps Home Based Care this week donated food parcels to the HIV infected children.

This Zone 6 based home is a Non-Profit Organisation (NPO) founded by Elizabeth Radebe to help the orphans, elderly people in the community.

Radebe says the food parcels was specifically donated to those elderly people who live with HIV infected children.

She said elderly people in community experienced serious challenges by taking care of their grandchildren because either their parents died with HIV or they have left them.

“Here we deal with number of issues and with the little we have we try by all means to make a difference in the lives of those elderly people and children who live with HIV. We know there is still a stigma in our community with people still hide their HIV infected children. He we also encourage those who take their treatment not to skip it,” she said.

Four Steps Home Based Care started operating in the garage. This was before they received a container to use for office purposes. Radebe said sadly the container was burned down in 2000 and now they are forced to operate in the shack.
