Vereeniging Art Society launches a competition

The Vereeniging Art Society has launched an exciting new competition for members and non-members during this lockdown period.

The title is: “My Favourite Room/Space in my House”.  It’s an open competition where artists of all ages can use any medium, except electronic generated art works and photography. The criteria being that the work should be creative, innovative, interesting and new.

You can make your artwork as big, or as small as you like, provided that the artwork must be able to hang on a wall. Framing is optional. You have up to 15 August 2020 at 12:00 to enter. Keep in mind that the organizers do reserve the right to extend the closing date, due to uncertainties regarding the coronavirus situation. All entries must be submitted to Die Duif Art Centre, 11 Japie Krige Street, Unitas Park Vereeniging.

In a post on the Vereeniging Art Society’s Facebook page they said: “Everybody that enters the competition will have the opportunity to judge. Judging will be done on 15 August 2020 from 12:00 to 12:30.” The six best arts works will then be nominated and from these, the members of the Vereeniging Art Society Committee will select the winner as well as the second and third places.

Entry fees are R20 for Art Society members and R50 for non-members. The entry fees received will be utilised for price money. The winner will receive 50%, 2nd place 30% and 3rd place 20%.
