Please help Shangri-La keep their doors open and their essential staff paid

Shangri-La Self-help Center provides permanent accommodation to adults with spinal cord injuries and also supports other people who are similarly challenged

VANDERBIJLPARK. – Shangri-La Self-help Center, founded two decades ago, currently provides permanent accommodation to six adults with spinal cord injuries and also renders supporting services in the form of support groups, psycho-social care and food packages to 35 similarly challenged persons.

Unfortunately the Covid-19 Lockdown brings about numerous challenges which adversely affect Shangri-La. The Center needs the public’s urgent support to keep its doors open, to pay the bills and to pay the salaries of their staff, because without their staff’s physical assistance the residents won’t be able to cope.

Shangri-La’s residents are known as a courageous and brave bunch who seldom ask for help, but now they really need the whole community’s support.

Members of the public or business owners who would like to assist Shangri-La with a once-off or a fixed monthly contribution, can call or WhatsApp Amor on 073 987 2222 or Leon on 083 309 6957.
