Soccer players donate food in Boipatong

BOIPATONG.- Former professional soccer players rolled up their sleeves to help in distributing food parcels in the Boipatong community.

For the past three weeks they were part of the community members who distributed food parcels to those who are in need of food.

Some of the well-known names who joined hands to distribute food parcels include former Bafana Bafana Captain Aaron “Mbazo” Mokoena, Mokete Tsotesi and Solomon Mathe to mention but few. They were joined by their former teammates from The Birds FC and Boipatong Real Rangers FC. This food parcels project was initiated by some of the Boipatong men and women from respective professions namely Philip Ndlovu, Pinky Matete and other Boipatong business people.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, former Kaizer Chiefs defender Mokete said when Ndlovu approached them they saw this as an opportunity to contribute to their community.

“I want to thank Mr Ndlovu and Ms Matete for bringing us on board and I must say it was heart warming to see the smile on the faces of the elderly people. This initiative made me realise how people are desperate for food. I was touched to see how much they appreciated the little they received.”
