Nyaope dealer (33) arrested

The suspect was searched and found to be in possession of nineteen packets of nyaope.

EVATON. – Even in these tough times of Covid-19, nyaope dealers are still out to make money, at the demise of addicts.

A 33-year-old suspect was arrested by the Evaton police’s High Density Unit for being in possession on nineteen (19) small packets of nyaope in Evaton West, Extension 11, yesterday. Police Spokesperson Captain Aubrey Moopeloa said that the suspect was monitored from a distance at a busy fourway stop next to Evaton Mall after being suspected of trading in something illegal.

“The suspect was then approached by Constable Nkabane. He was searched and found to be in possession of nineteen packets of nyaope. On further investigation it was found that the suspect has been arrested a couple of times before for a similar offence.”

The nyaope was found in his possession wrapped in small green plastic packets. He will appear soon before Sebokeng magistrate Court to face a charge of possession of nyaope.
