Evaton Police arrest 38 people for violation of lockdown regulations

Police Spokesperson, Captain Aubrey Moopeloa said that the violations ranged from people failing to confine themselves in their residence.

EVATON. A total number of 38 people, ranging in age from 64 to 20 years, were arrested by the Evaton Police for violating the lockdown regulation act from Thursday until yesterday.

Police Spokesperson, Captain Aubrey Moopeloa said that the violations ranged from failing to confine themselves in their residence, public transport failing to adhere to specified time and selling non-essential goods, driving under the influence of liquor, damage to property, selling liquor and theft including possession of unlicensed 7,65 mm pistol and ammunition.

Meanwhile a suspect from Section K in Palmsprings was also arrested for damage to property and theft after a bottle store was damaged by a crowd in Palmsprings Mall and four taxi drivers were also arrested for illegally operating public transport against disaster management regulations.

“All suspects will appear soon before Sebokeng magistrates court to face various charges.”
