Murder case investigated

DE DEUR.- The De Deur police are investigating a case of murder after a gruesome discovery of a body burnt beyond recognition was made at a fruit farm in the area recently.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster, De Deur Vispol Communication Officer, Warrant Officer Tshegofatso Maliehe said that a sector vehicle responded to a complaint of a murder that had occurred and on arrival at the scene they found a badly burnt human body that  was later discovered that it was that of a man.

“Through observation the deceased seemed to have been tied both hands and legs and the face covered with a cloth before it was burnt. The case docket of murder is opened for investigation however it is not yet known what might have led to this gruesome murder and we appeal to the public to come forward with information that will help the police to identify the deceased and also lead to the successful arrest of the perpetrator/s,” Maliehe said.
