TOUCHLINE: Should football leagues championships get decided in the board room

As things stands, it seems as if the football leagues all over the world will be decided in the board room as the world fights against COVID-19.

There is a suggestion that the clubs that are at the top of the log to be crowned the league champions from their  respective leagues all over the world.
For, example, back here home or in our domistic league, Kaizer Chiefs is the Absa Premier Soccer League (PSL) log leaders but with a four point between them defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns.
TOUCHLINE must say, this is not going to be easy taking into consideration the gap between these two bitter rivals.
This has sparked a debate among the local soccer fans especially Sundowns supporters who are of the opinion that their club have a good chance to close the gap and defend their title.
As things stands, everything came to a standstill.
However, this is not the case with professional soccer leagues in the world.
The Safa have experienced the same situation with their leagues in their regions.
Never in the history of our sports especially football have we experienced this.
TOUCHLINE challenges everyone who is involved in sports to stand on their feet and join government institutions and organisations to fight Covid-19.
Image, just imagine those clubs received the league  titles on silver platter.
Regardless of the situation there must be a way to come up with the best solutions in the interest of everyone who is involved in sports in this country.
It is easy for people to suggest that the clubs that are at the top of the log in their respective leagues must be handed the trophy.
The league or games won and lost in the field of play.
If this is the case, then there must be a winner or  relegation at the end of season.
This is TOUCHLINE’s opinion as far as the situation is concern especially for football.
The truth is that, we will be doing injustice to this beautiful game to award clubs championships without a fight in the field of play. TOUCHLINE doesn’t know how many will remember this slogan “an injury to one, is an injury to all”.
This situation must not benefit certain clubs or individuals.
TOUCHLINE challenges power that is being no football matches must be won in boardrooms.
Lastly, TOUCHLINE would like to take this opportunity to appeal to everyone to adhere President Cyril Ramaphosa’s call to stay at home and save lives of  South Africans, young and old during this difficult period.
