Pekeur challenges other female to take part in fishing sport

EVATON.- Fishing is one of the relative unknown sports in the black communities but thanks to Sinnah Pekeur, who is few of the participate in this sports.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, Pekeur challenges other women, young and old especially those who stay in township to get involved in fishing as part of sports to balance equity in fishing as a scarce sports. She told Sedibeng Ster Sport that the sports it high time women get involved in fishing.
“I appeal to all women especially young female to come on board because fishing is one of the unique and interesting sporting activities. I’m one of the few women who participate in fishing as a sports in Sedibeng especially from township,” she said.
She was selected for the Gauteng A Protea Team that took part at the National Fishing Competition. Pekuer finished positive 9 out of 72 women who participated in the competition. Gauteng women team won gold.
Pekeur revealed to Sedibeng Ster Sport that the Gauteng team was supposed to attend trials from 21 – 22 March but were postponed due to the COVID-19.
To make it worse, the team was supposed to travel to Namibia for the fishing competition from August to September but this is likely not to happen taking into consideration the current situation in the country.
