Young South African teacher doing well in China

Mosebi said that living in China has been a wonderful experience for him, that he is being treated well, and that he is doing fine personally.

SEDIBENG.- Despite suffering from the after-effects of Coronavirus (Covid19), things are slowly but surely getting back to normality in China.

This was revealed to Sedibeng Ster by Lebogang Mosebi, a young South African who has been a teacher in China for a year now.  Speaking to Sedibeng Ster electronically, Mosebi, who is originally from Tumahole near Parys and is currently based in Ankang, a City in Shaanxi Province, said that work has resumed in China and businesses have also begun their operations. He adds that schools will also be reopening soon as panic is a thing of the past in that country. The 25-year-old Mosebi, who is a North West University (NWU,Vaal) graduate in Bachelor of Arts (B.A) loves teaching and is also an aspiring musician.

“I believe in being self-sustainable and the best way I could do that was getting an education, through which I could work my way to the top. I’m passionate about the English language so I chose to be an English teacher in a foreign country like China, until I can focus on my art (music) full time when I return back to South Africa.”

Mosebi said that living in China has been a wonderful experience for him, that he is being treated well, and that he is doing fine personally.

“I’m being treated well, and as a foreigner, the Chinese citizens will go an extra mile to ensure that you are comfortable because they want you to have a positive outlook on their country and their way of life.”

Encouraging South Africans through the current lockdown situation due to Coronavirus, Mosebi said,  “As South Africans, we beat Apartheid, we defeated Swine- flu, Malaria, TB and Cholera, Coronavirus will be no different. It is okay to be afraid, but as Nelson Mandela so eloquently put it, ‘Courage is not the absence of fear but the triumph over it’. One thing is for certain, when the dust has settled, Coronavirus will be defeated and South Africa will be triumphant again.”

Lebohang Mosebi is also an aspiring musician.
