Vaal Mall bolsters hygiene measures as result of COVID-19 situation

The Vaal Mall says it is proactively increasing hygiene measures to address the challenges of the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation.

“The health of all using our mall is our first priority. Vaal Mall and its stores are open to serve our customers and we want everyone to feel safe,” says General Manager of Vaal Mall, Shana Maree-Paraskevopoulos.

“To protect our shoppers, tenants and employees, the mall is following the World Health Organisation’s recommended preventative protocols, and staying in continuous contact with the relevant South African and local health authorities.”

“We are cleaning regularly and disinfecting the common areas of the mall, especially touchpoints,” says Shana Maree-Paraskevopoulos.

When at the mall, everyone is asked to remember to wash their hands often and rigorously with soap and water, or to use an alcohol-based sanitiser. The mall has introduced additional sanitiser stations to assist with personal hygiene practices.

Shoppers are also reminded not to shake hands in greeting, and avoid touching their mouth and nose areas. When coughing or sneezing, cover your mouth and nose with your flexed elbow or a tissue (and then throw it away properly and immediately). If you feel sick rather stay home and seek medical attention.

“We pledge our commitment to support our customers and communities. We will take whatever action is needed based on official guidance, and will continue to provide updates to Vaal Mall’s response to COVID-19 on our website,” assures Maree-Paraskevopoulos.
