The Heritage Village: Here’s to fun and friendship!
You never have to be lonely or bored again.... Visit the Heritage Village in Sylviavale, Vanderbijlpark, to experience the excitement and energy! A wide spectrum of exciting shops and activities await visitors, or just come and relax in the village pub and make lots of new friends...
The Heritage Village was established in 2019 and replaces the Heritage Museum. A goal of the Village is to provide a recreational venue for young and old. True to its name the venue has the ambience of a small village, lovely big trees, shady outdoor seating, quaint nooks and crannies, and characterful buildings. There’s even a vineyard.The Village has in excess of 3 500m² under roof of which the largest portion is rentable. Various tenants have taken up occupation in the different buildings:
* The Heritage Function Venue is housed in the Village Hall and may be hired for various celebrations and even weddings. It also doubles as a restaurant catering for tasty food such as pizzas and platters. (Call them on 072 158 2204 for more information).
* The Cock & Bull Pub is situated opposite the function venue and has become a popular meeting place. Live entertainment is provided on Friday evenings. (082 572 9184).
* Second Chance is a sophisticated furniture and décor outlet and stocks a wide range of interesting artefacts. It is situated on the Courtyard. (083 297 7671).
* House of RR is a clothing boutique and also stocks accessories such as handbags and jewellery. It is also situated on the Courtyard. (081 475 2417). * In the Five Roses building on the Village Square, Slice of Life stocks a wide range of natural products such as olive oils, cheeses, spices, etc. (071 604 4187).
* In the Seed & Feed building, also on the Village Square, Heritage Wood & Papercraft has an interesting range of products. (084 886 6836).
* Vaal Gymnastics Club offers classes for youngsters in Hall 3. (072 177 5647).
* In Hall 4 Webb Timber Creations specialises in all types of cupboards and cabinets. (081 589 5584).
* Modern Upholsterers, a business established in 1964, is housed in the biggest building at the Village. They maintain superb workmanship and tackle any job, big or small. (016 933 5117).
* Whether you’re 16 or 86, you can treat yourself to beautiful vintage-style photographs at the Toeka tot Nou Photo Studio. Come pick and choose through the available period costumes and organise a day to remember with your girlfriends, family members or that special loved-one. * Every first Friday of the month from 16:00 a ‘Nite Market’ is held in the Village Square. (016 932 2495). * Other organizations that use the Village as their home are the MOTHS and Vaal Old Wheels Classic Car Club. The Heritage Village promises a safe and fun venue for carefree enjoyment. It is situated at 14 Vaal Drive, Sylviavale, Vanderbijlpark.
