Today’s weather: A warm, fine day across much of SA

It will be a fine, warm day across much of the republic, according to the South African Weather Service.

Gauteng will be fine and warm becoming partly cloudy in the afternoon. The expected UVB sunburn index is moderate.

You can expect morning fog patches along the escarpment in Mpumalanga, otherwise, it will be partly cloudy and warm, but hot to very hot in the Lowveld. Isolated thunderstorms are expected on the Highveld.

Limpopo will see morning fog patches along the escarpment, otherwise, it will be partly cloudy and warm, but hot to very hot in the Lowveld and Western Bushveld. Isolated thunderstorms are expected in the south-east.

The North West will be fine and warm to hot.

It will be fine and warm to hot in the Free State.

The Northern Cape will be partly cloudy along the coast in the morning where it will be warm, otherwise, it will be fine and hot to very hot. The wind along the coast will be strong southerly to south-easterly.

It will be cloudy along the south coast and the adjacent interior with light morning rain in the Overberg region, otherwise partly cloudy and cool to warm, but hot in places along the west coast and interior of the Western Cape. It will become fine from the west in the afternoon. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh southerly to south-westerly, becoming strong along the west coast in the afternoon. It will become moderate south-easterly along the south coast by the evening. The expected UVB sunburn index is very high.

It will be fine and hot in the western half of the Eastern Cape, but cloudy and warm in the south. Drizzle can be expected along the coast from late afternoon. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh south-westerly, but strong in the east during the afternoon.

You can expect mist along the escarpment of the eastern half of the Eastern Cape at first, otherwise, it will be fine and warm, but partly cloudy in the south where it will become cloudy with light rain in the evening. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh south-westerly, but light to moderate south-easterly in the north in the morning.

KwaZulu-Natal will be fine and warm, but hot in places in the north, becoming partly cloudy with isolated evening showers in the south. The wind along the coast will be gentle to moderate east to north-easterly, becoming gentle southerly between Durban and Margate from the morning. The expected UVB sunburn index is high.
