Taxi overturns leaving nineteen children injured in Vanderbijlpark

VANDERBIJLPARK. - Nineteen school children were left injured this morning when the taxi they were travelling in overturned on Faraday Road in Vanderbijlpark.

ER24 paramedics, along with the Provincial EMS, arrived on the scene at 07h22 to find the taxi lying on its side in the centre median. Several children were found seated on the median being attended to by the community.

Medics assessed the children, aged between 7 and 12, and found that they had sustained minor to moderate injuries.

The children were treated and thereafter transported to Johan Heyns and Mediclinic Emfuleni Hospital for further care.

The driver of the taxi sustained minor injuries and was also transported to hospital for further assessment.

The details surrounding this incident are not yet known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
