Today’s weather: Rainy Monday for parts of SA

According to the South African Weather Service Monday will be a fine day for parts of the country while showers and thundershowers can be expected for most of South Africa.

It will be partly cloudy, with isolated showers and thundershowers in Gauteng. The expected UVB sunburn index is high.

Mpumalanga can expect fog patches on the escarpment, otherwise partly cloudy and cool to warm conditions, becoming cloudy with scattered showers and thundershowers.

In Limpopo it will be partly cloudy and warm, but hot in the west, becoming cloudy in the afternoon with isolated showers and thundershowers. Scattered thundershowers are expected in the extreme south.

The North West will be fine and hot, becoming partly cloudy in the far east with isolated thundershowers.

It will be fine and warm but partly cloudy in the northeast of the Free State, with isolated thundershowers.

The Northern Cape will be fine and warm to hot. The wind along the coast will be strong southerly to south-easterly.

It will be partly cloudy along the south coast of the Western Cape, otherwise sunny and cool to warm. The wind along the coast will be light to moderate south-westerly to southerly, but fresh to strong north of Cape Columbine. The expected UVB sunburn index is extreme.

The western part of the Eastern Cape will be cloudy, with isolated showers along the coast in the morning, otherwise partly cloudy and cool.

It will be partly cloudy and cool, with isolated showers and rain in places of the eastern half along the coast and adjacent interior. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh south westerly.

KwaZulu-Natal will be cloudy and cool, but warm in the north-east. Isolated showers and thundershowers are expected, but scattered in the north-east.

The wind along the coast will be near gale force, southerly to south-westerly, in places at first, otherwise fresh to moderate southerly to south-westerly. The expected UVB sunburn index is low.
