Best of the best at the Sedibeng Summer Festival at Emerald

SEDIBENG.- Some of the best artists in the South African music industry are coming to the Sedibeng District for the seventh Sedibeng Summer Festival on December 22.

The festival, that will be held at the Emerald Casino in Vanderbijlpark continues to grow from strength to strength over the years. Once again this year, patrons can expect an ‘All Star’ line-up featuring artists such as Zonke Dikana, Tsepo Tshola, Sjava, Ntando, Samthing Soweto, Vaal’s Own Lucia Jakeni, Xoli Nosenga. Metro FM’s Wilson B, Sentle & Msizi Shembe.


Drummer Trio 016 Banger Boyz will add local flavour. Pulz and Classic Tank and Abiter DJ will also be on the decks. “Our district is pioneering to be the “hydrotropolis” – focusing on developing economies around tourism, water and “agrotropolis”, focusing also on, and developing economies, around agriculture and agro-processing in Gauteng province” says Jackie Chili, Sedibeng Summer Festival Director. Last year, Tshepo Tshola staged a marvelous performance leaving the crowd in total amazement and this year, he is back by popular demand to seal the seventh celebration.
Chili said community members can look forward to this unique musical experience coupled with kiddies’ entertainment and exquisite food along the banks of Vaal River.


“An event of this magnitude is the right puzzle piece to stimulate our tourism sector, create jobs, empower local artists, SMMEs and place Sedibeng region as a place to live, work and play. What a better way to enjoy your festive with the whole family in a kid’s friendly event where all kids
under six are free.” Kids between 6 to 18 years pay R125 at the gate. Gates will open at 11:00 while the show kicks off at 12:00 and ends at 02:00 am the following day.


Tickets are available at Computicket, Shoprite, Checkers, Checkers Hyper, House and Home, President Hyper, at selected OK Furniture and Usave at R250 General Access, R600 VIP Ticket, secured VIP parking at R50 at the gate and cooler boxes R50 at the gate. General access tickets will set you back by R280 at the gate and at Computicket on the weekend of the event. Free parking is available off-site.
