Motor vehicle theft high in Three Rivers

VEREENIGING. – Police spokesperson Captain Fikile Funda reports that the theft of motor vehicles is rife in Three Rivers. “The make of vehicles being targeted are VW Polo, NP2OO and 4X4 of any make.”

Funda also warns people that are coming to enjoy themselves in the Vereeniging CBD to be aware that there are thieves that are targeting their cars after they park their cars to go and drink.
Funda further reports that a total of 33 people were arrested for various crimes in Vereeniging last week. Funda says, “Culprits were arrested for possession of drugs, driving under the influence, dealing in drugs, business break-in and shoplifting, possession of suspected stolen property, possession of stolen motor vehicle, common assault and reckless and or negligent driving. All the arrested people will appear in Vereeniging magistrate court.”
