Sedibeng football will never be the same: NWU Vaal

VANDERBIJLPARK.- Sedibeng football will never be the same again following North West University (NWU) Vaal Development League officials disclosing that they aim to pick up where they left off last season. The North West University (NWU) Vaal Development
League is the first of its kind in the area.
NWU Vaal Development League officials have requested parents to pay the affiliation fees for their children to be part of the league. The affiliation fees will also support the teams that do not have sponsorships. Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport NWU Vaal’s Football Manager, Thomas Thema said that this initiative came after they realised most of the financial implications of running a team.
“We are quite aware that most of the people who run these clubs are not working and their clubs don’t have financial assistance.”
“As the situation stands, wehave decided that parents must pay their affiliation fees to be part of the league. This affiliation fee includes transport and prizes at the end of the season. Like we said before, we are not taking over football in the region but want to help as much as we can to improve the standard of football especially in the areas where there is no football played at all,” said Thema. Meanwhile, the league kicked off over the weekend
at the Rand Water Grounds in Vereeniging with u/17 teams battling it out for three points.
