Provincial Commissioner awarded the best police officers

VANDERBIJLPARK. – The Sedibeng District recently recognised and acknowledged the excellent work of its police officers and management sectors.
Officers received recognition during the Sedibeng Excellence Awards Ceremony, hosted at the Emerald Resort and Casino recently.
The event was attended by Gauteng Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Elias Mawela, and Sedibeng District Commissioner, Major General
Zodwa Molefe.
Lt Gen Mawela told the members that as SAPS, one needs to sacrifice his or her life and that of their families. He praises the district to have done well
in fighting crime, but he appeals to the officers to add more energy.
“Working closely with the community should be applauded. Let’s assure the community by giving them hope where our presence is needed.”
Lt Gen Mawela said the Batho Pele Principles and Police Code of Conduct should be on the shoulder of each member. The Police Code of Conduct was read by Sergeant Gertrude Makhale.
The Vaal Marina Police Station, under leadership of Station Commander Captain Given Marais, received a standing ovation as the Best Station of the Year. Colonel Mncedisi Mabala was awarded as Visible Police Employee of the Year Level 8-12 and Constable Ralesai as Level 3-7.
David Ndindwa, was proudly awarded with Community Policing Forum of the Year award and Constable Mapaseka Maketekete, from Boipatong, was chosen as Woman of the Year.
