8-year-old injured in collision

VANDERBIJLPARK.- An eight-year-old boy was injured yesterday (Thursday) morning following a two-vehicle collision at the Louis Trichardt and Macowen Road intersection in Vanderbijlpark.
ER24 medics, along with another service, arrived on the scene at 11:51 to find the two vehicles in the middle of the intersection.
On closer inspection, medics discovered the young boy seated inside the one vehicle.
Medics assessed the boy and found that he had sustained a serious injury to his neck.
The boy was treated for his injury and provided with pain-relief medication before he was transported to a nearby hospital for further query.
Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
