VANDERBIJLPARK.- HIV and Aids awareness campaigns should take place 364 days a year and not only on December 1.
This is the view of HIV/AIDS Counsellor and activist, Fabrice Facar who recently embarked on a mission to spread wider awareness about the pandemic. Facar believes that, friends, churches, places of work, unions, clinics and schools all have a role to play in promoting HIV/AIDS awareness.
During the recent awareness Facar lit two candles, one in remembrance of those who have died of Aids and related illnesses and the other for those not infected, so that they can see the ‘light’ and not get infected.
“There are millions affected but the truth of the matter is that we are all affected.
“There is a need for prayer, information and most importantly encouragement to people to go out and test. Everyone needs to know their status so that they can stay HIV/Aids free or start taking their medication, which is free. The journey of awareness must continue no matter what.”
Facar thanked the All Saints Anglican Church in Vanderbijlpark for allowing him to take his recent campaign there
