See you at the 2019 Value Logistics Fast One Cycle Race!

 
MEYERTON. – Midvaal will once again have the opportunity to show thousands of cyclists and their supporters from all over the country its renowned hospitality when the Value Logistics Fast One Cycle Race takes place in this lovely area on January 27.

This prestigious annual Category A Classic cycle race (one of the fastest, if not THE fastest in South Africa), is organised by the Rotary Club of Riverside and all profits generated are utilised for the club’s community projects. Rotarians will once again assist with marshalling and water points. The race starts and finishes at the Midvaal Raceway in Meyerton. Entries are via the Internet only and therefore payment needs to be done with a valid credit or debit card. Cyclists can register at https://bit.ly/2APGrD3. (No entries on the day of the race).

For safety reasons, no person younger than 12 years may enter the 96 km race. If a younger person would like to ride, he or she can enter the 50 km fun ride, provided that written consent is given by a parent or guardian. The wearing of a helmet is compulsory. No cyclist will be permitted to ride without a recognized cycling safety helmet. Anyone found along the route not wearing a helmet will immediately be penalized by the safety marshals and will not be permitted to carry on.

Participants may use any traditional bicycle or tandem bicycle that is not motorized. Recumbent bicycles are also allowed in certain categories.

All participants (both for the 96 and 50 km races ) have to be holders of a CSA License. Cyclists without such a license should apply timely for a Day License. Cyclists won’t need to have a timing chip to participate, however, if you do not have one you will not get an official timing result.
