Gauteng Weather has warned that the worst of the heat wave is expected today (26 December) with temperature highs of up to 36 degrees expected in certain areas in Gauteng.
Vaal residents are urged to wear light clothing and stay out of direct sunlight especially between 11am and 3pm.
The temperature in the Vaal Triagle is expected to reach 35 to 36 degrees.
A few tips to handle the heat:
* Drink lots of water
* Wear loose-fitting linen or cotton clothing in light colours
* Wear a hat and sunglasses
* Avoid direct sunlight
