Newborn baby found dead at dumping site in Meyerton

The body of a newborn baby was discovered recently at a dumping site in Meyerton.

MEYERTON. – Police in Meyerton are investigating an inquest following the discovery of a body of a newborn baby at a dumping site in Kookfontein, Meyerton.

Police spokesperson constable Maria Letsele reports that police were called to the scene by a community member who was busy with recycling activities when he stumbled across the body.

“The complainant discovered the body of the newborn baby with its head wrapped with plastic. The baby was declared dead on the scene and the cause of death is currently unknown.”
