SASOLBURG – Sasolburg’s talented and highly popular dance group Kedio has qualified to not
only represent their town but the whole of South Africa at the 10th annual International Dance Fest Novi Sad Finals from November 14 to 23 in Novi Sad, Serbia.
The girl group which consists of six members aged between 10 and 15, qualified for the International Dance Fest Novi Sad Finals in July tis year after being awarded gold medals for obtaining first place at the Euro Dance competition held at the Roodepoort Theatre.
Dance Fest Novi Sad is a festival celebrating the quality and diversity of dance styles through
live performances and workshops and is attended by dancers from more than 80 countries.
Founder of Kedio, Kidibone Yvonne Motlhasedi and the group’s choreographer Fanyana Mbalo are happy that the group will be representing South Africa overseas and are trying to raise funds in order to come up with the R33 250 that each girl needs for the competition.
The money will cover air tickets, travel insurance, transfers between hotel and airport, team
jackets, admin fees, four solo entries and accommodation.
“It takes a village to raise a child. We hope everyone is going to support this and
notice that this is a good opportunity not only for the girls but the community as well,” said Fanyana.
Businesses or individuals who would like to make a donation to make the young dancers’ dreams come true, are welcome to call Kidibone Yvonne Motlhasedi on 079 697 4985 for ore information.
