Woman found dead at dumping site in Bophelong

VANDERBIJLPARK . – A half naked body of a woman was recently discovered at an illegal dumping site in Bophelong. The discovery was made by a woman who said she was about to dump her rubbish at the dumping site when she saw the body. The woman then alerted the police who rushed to the scene.

Vanderbijlpark police spokesperson sergeant Gertrude Makhale says, “At the moment, we can’t say for sure whether the woman was raped or not as this will form part of the police investigation.

“We would like to appeal to members of the community or relatives who might be missing a loved one to come forward as the body has not yet been identified. The woman was found wearing wearing white a Adidas T-shirt, a black bra, brown boots and small stud earings.”

A bystander at the scene said that she only knew the woman’s name as Lerato but could not tell authorities where the deceased resided. Police appeal to members of the community with information to contact Warrant Officer Alberts at (016) 910-9021/8.
