VUT Sports Management students host successful sports tournament

Vaal University of Technology (VUT) 3rd Year Sports Management students hosted a successful soccer and netball tournament at Isak Steyl Stadium in Vanderbijlpark recently.

VANDERBIJLPARK. – Vaal University of Technology (VUT) 3rd Year Sports Management students hosted a successful soccer and netball tournament at Isak Steyl Stadium in Vanderbijlpark recently.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, Neo Masilo who was also part of the organising committee said the main objective of this tournament was to create awareness to say no to drug abuse and violence against women and children. Masilo said that they also wanted to show that sports is not only about playing but can also change a person’s life if one takes it seriously.

“We want to say thanks to the participating teams, fellow students and our lecture for making this event a success. We also want to thank Sedibeng Ster newspaper for their support to the VUT students, especially in supporting their education projects. This encourages us as student to see the local newspaper participating in the black child’s education,” Masilo concluded.

Aside from the games, there was also a hive of activities; these included entertainment by the cheerleaders from VUT.
