RUST-TER-VAAL.- The Sedibeng Boxing Association in conjunction with Gauteng Boxing Association will host a boxing tournament scheduled to take place at the Rust-ter-Vaal Community Hall on June 16. This exciting news was revealed to Sedibeng Ster Sport by the Sedibeng Boxing Association Head Coach, Gerald Veeris.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport Veeris said the tournament will see all the boxing clubs all over Gauteng coming together to exchange gloves throughout the day.

Veeris said apart from the tournament they will also be commemorating this important day in the history of politics – June 16.

“We are looking forward to this occasion and we have already started with our preparations. We want to make this tournament a success and I have no doubt that we are going to put together a great show. The aim of the tournament is our continuity to revive boxing in our townships because it is where the sport belongs. In the past people used to fill township halls such as Mphatlalatsane, Sharpeville and Residensia,” he said.

Veeris also makes a special appeal to the Sedibeng community to come in numbers and fill the Rust-ter-Vaal Hall on the day of the event.
