Accident claims three

Unfortunately, all three patients had already succumbed to their numerous injuries. Nothing could be done for them and they were declared dead.

SEBOKENG. – Three people were killed and several others injured following a collision between a taxi and truck on Waterdal Road near Boiketlong in Sebokeng on Thursday morning.It is alleged that one of the tires of the taxi burst, causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle.

ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene to find other services already attending to some of the patients. A truck, transporting ‘Red Ant’ employees, was found parked in the middle of the road while a wrecked taxi was found on the opposite side. Upon closer inspection, paramedics found the bodies of two men and a woman lying trapped inside the taxi. Unfortunately, all three patients had already succumbed to their numerous injuries. Nothing could be done for them and they were declared dead.
Several other patients were found on the scene. Three were found in a critical condition while several other had sustained minor to moderate injuries. Paramedics treated the patients, once treated, one of the critically injured patients was airlifted to hospital for intensive care. Paramedics transported the remaining two critically injured, as well as five others, to nearby hospitals. Several others were transported to various hospitals.
The exact cause of the collision is not yet known but authorities were on the scene for further investigations.  Police spokesperson, Sergeant Thembeka Koago confirms that a case of culpable homicide was opened and is being investigated.
