The victim alleged that the suspect grabbed her school bag and showed her a knife on his waist, subsequently ordering her to keep quiet and follow his instructions. He then took her to an open veld and raped her.

Police spokesperson Captain Fikile Funda says: “Anyone who might recognise the suspect can contact the nearest police station or Crime Stop on 0800 101111, or the investigating officer Morake Khoali on 082 7820 739/083 2974 382.” Funda further says that since the arrest of one suspect called Cobra Ndaba, house robberies in student accommodations have decreased significantly.
